Jakarta, November 24, 2022 — Indonesia Eximbank, has swiftly responded to the Cianjur earthquake disaster by providing humanitarian aid, including donations of food, tents, medicines, and cash.
In collaboration with local residents, the LPEI Peduli team has set up an aid post in the most affected area in Kampung Tegallega, located in Cianjur District, West Java. The logistical assistance distributed includes food items, medicines, personal hygiene products, and baby supplies.
The assistance has been focused on the Tegallega Village, RT 02, RW 03, and was directly delivered to the Head of RT, Dadang, as the representative of the beneficiaries. Dadang will subsequently distribute the aid to approximately 242 families, consisting of around 910 affected residents.
"I, representing RT 02, RW 07, want to express our gratitude to LPEI for providing assistance to us. We hope that this aid can alleviate the burden on the residents due to the recent earthquake," said Dadang.
Riyani Tirtoso, the Executive Director of LPEI, explained that providing assistance for the Cianjur earthquake victims is a tangible manifestation of LPEI's corporate social responsibility and social responsibility to the surrounding community and environment.
"We are deeply concerned about the natural disaster that has occurred. Through the #LPEIPeduli program, we will make every effort to respond promptly and help alleviate the difficulties currently faced by the people of Cianjur, especially the residents of Tegallega Village. We hope that the affected community is granted the strength and resilience to face this calamity," said Riyani Tirtoso separately.
As of now, based on the information obtained on-site, the earthquake in that location has resulted in residents suffering severe and minor injuries, and unfortunately, there have been casualties. Additionally, 106 homes in Tegallega Village have been damaged.
As a Special Mission Vehicle under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, LPEI consistently reaches out to the public as a moral responsibility and care to support the government in mitigating the impacts of disasters on the population. This responsibility is reflected in the #LPEIPeduli initiatives, which are conducted with full commitment to aid in disaster response and humanitarian efforts to accelerate the improvement of community and environmental conditions.
Wahyu Wibowo, the Head of Compliance and Human Resources at LPEI, expressed, "With this social aid, it is hoped that the basic needs of the community in the earthquake-affected area can be met, reducing the burden faced by the residents."
Furthermore, Wahyu encouraged the entire community to come together and help the people of Cianjur, so that this distressing situation can improve rapidly, allowing the residents to return to their normal activities.
