Jakarta, June 29, 2022, Indonesia Eximbank or Lembaga Pembiayaan Ekspor Indonesia (LPEI), as a Special Mission Vehicle under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia with a mandate to promote national exports, held a discussion on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and Economic Outlook at the LPEI Head Office in Jakarta, in collaboration with Moodys Analytics. The morning webinar focused on dynamic economic developments that enable business stakeholders to anticipate market needs and respond to global standards and trends.

This discussion also aimed to strengthen the understanding and commitment of all LPEI management and staff in building a sustainable, integrated national export ecosystem that prioritizes environmental friendliness and economic stability.

Riyani Tirtoso, the Executive Director of LPEI, emphasized in the "ESG Trends & Economic Outlook" webinar that "Indonesia Eximbank is fully committed to proactively promoting and strengthening the implementation of ESG within our internal organization and in the business processes we undertake."

"We support Indonesia's G20 Presidency, which carries the theme 'Recover Stronger, Recover Together,' and the Indonesian Government's Roadmap to achieve Net Zero by 2060. This involves integrating ESG-related aspects into our role as a Special Mission Vehicle under the Ministry of Finance," Riyani added.

Riyani mentioned that LPEI is developing a Green Office Lifestyle and a Culture of Environmental Friendliness within the organization. They aim to apply ESG principles to produce goods and services through sustainable processes within the export ecosystem.

During this webinar, LPEI invited Jewel Myrtel Bautista, the ESG & Climate Risk Industry Practice Lead, and Steven Cochrane, the Chief APAC Economist at Economic Solutions Moodys Analytics, to discuss the importance of ESG in driving inclusive economic growth, particularly in sustainable national exports.

Furthermore, LPEI encouraged business actors to proactively focus on and implement ESG through mentoring and training programs for businesses supported by LPEI, to produce globally competitive and environmentally friendly export products. In this context, the Devisa Village program is promoting the enhancement of micro-scale business capacities, well-being, and economies through the application of ESG.
