Surabaya, August 31, 2022 — The Indonesian Export Financing Institution (LPEI)/Indonesia Eximbank has once again collaborated with Bank BNI as part of their institutional synergy to enhance the capacity of export-oriented entrepreneurs, particularly in the East Java region. The three-day training took place at the BNI Building in Surabaya from August 23 to 25, 2022, and was attended by 100 micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) from East Java, the majority of which were from various sectors, including the food and beverage industry, handicrafts, furniture, and garment.
This synergy represents the realization of the cooperation agreement between LPEI and Bank BNI, signed earlier (April 25, 2022) by Muhammad Iqbal, Director of Micro, Small, and Medium Business at BNI, Maqin U. Norhadi, Director of Business Development at LPEI, and Chesna F. Anwar, Director of Institutional Relations at LPEI.
The collaboration between these two institutions aims to enhance the capacity of small and medium-sized industries (IKM) and MSMEs to boost national exports through an export coaching program called the Coaching Program for New Exporters (CPNE).
This training equips MSMEs with fundamental knowledge about digital marketing, communication with potential foreign buyers, and strategies to explore the value and benefits of their products to increase their value-added.
In his address, Herry Prianto, Deputy Head of BNI Region 06, expressed his appreciation for the collaboration and the successful organization of the CPNE training. "This synergy represents our commitment to supporting the government's efforts to boost national exports. In this regard, we have partnered with LPEI so that MSMEs in East Java can improve both their bankability and quality," said Herry Prianto.
Riyani Tirtoso, Executive Director of LPEI, also noted that the CPNE program aligns with the government's commitment to upgrading MSMEs. "The CPNE training program was launched to meet the needs of MSMEs who want to enter the global market but face challenges related to information access and training. Therefore, CPNE is designed to create new and bankable exporters," stated Riyani.
As a Special Mission Vehicle under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, LPEI will continue to develop programs that align with the government's initiatives to enhance national exports, including improving the capacity of MSMEs, through the provision of export financing, guarantees, and insurance, as well as consulting services.
